Starting a young CSR network for leading socially responsible results!
Katia Todeschini talks about her Corporate Responsibility related experience in AIESEC so far.
Following my passion...
By the end of my undergraduation in Psychology (Human resources), I started learning about CSR, more specifically, about diversity in organizations. Studying that issue I could see how strategic it may be the inclusion of people from different cultures, classes, countries, religions, sexual orientations, genders, etc, for the organization to achieve competitiveness and success. As a professional on HR, I realized that I could play a very important role promoting socially responsible human resources management, if I were professionally capable on that issue and if I had the opportunity to use that playing leadership roles. That’s the main reason why I became a member of AIESEC: I saw in AIESEC the great opportunity to use the strength of my abilities, my work and my passion for developing my potential and leadership, so then I could contribute with important results for the organization where I’ll work and for the sustainable development of a better world.
AIESEC as my pathway...
I’ve been selected for the CSR intitiative on my LC because of my interest in the issue and because I had already gone through experiences somehow aligned with AIESEC, since I had participated of a Junior company and played leadership roles there. Then I was selected and soon started taking responsibilities and contributing to the LC productivity. I participated of
the national conference, which had a CSR day when all the Brazilian LCs could exchange information about their work with the issue and with PBOX management. After we came back, participated of the working group for the LC annual planning, which is running on the Balanced Scored Card method. In the CSR initiative we’ve been structuring projects to involve
Brasilia's companies with the issue, having them invest and getting acquainted with CSR good practices. Also, we have promoted two CSR events, one of them directed to university students and the other one directed to business people environment. In these events we intended to give
participants the opportunity to discuss about CSR practices and good results, as well as to have them getting together to expand their network and exchange information.
… and the WORLD as my destiny!
Now, besides working with CSR in my LC, I’m looking for an opportunity to share what I’ve been developing here in a CSR internship. I understand that I can contribute taking Brazilian information and practices, and that I will learn a lot from working in another country, with different people, from a different culture, with different uses but with a similar interest,
which is the CSR issue and its great importance for sustainable development.
